franklin and whitman review

Franklin and Whitman products grabbed my attention last year. I was searching the web for new clean, cruelty-free, vegan brands to try out when I stumbled upon the little gem.

A little bit about the brand and their mission

Franklin and Whitman was founded in 2016 after Christopher Cieri became curious about ingredients in his beard care products. He decided to create cruelty-free, clean, never tested on animals, high performing, food grade products.

The brand carries products with simple ingredients that are all natural and preservatives free.

Franklin and Whitman donates 5 percent of their sales to Dog Rescue organizations. That’s what I call put your money where your mouth is!

The brand’s commitment is to “keep it boldly simple” by only using the best ingredients for maximum results while keeping the ingredients list short, around ten or less.

Franklin and whitman is also committed to “feed your skin” by excluding harsh and harmful chemicals. The brand also “do what’s right” by using recycled boxes in the shipping packaging, and vegetable starch peanuts for shipment.

Franklin and Whitman uses glasses and BPA-free recycled plastics.

Great customer service is one the core values of Franklin Whitman.

The products are handcrafted in Philadelphia.

Before We dive in the Franklin and Whitman review of some its products, let’s take a quick tour of what they have to offer!

As you access the website itself, you will find it quite easy to navigate. You can shop for products or filter them by skin type namely acne prone, combo, oily, dry, and sensitive skin. You can also search by product type or function, gender, and categories. You will also notate that every single product is highly rated by faithfull and returning customers like myself.

Since I have used different products in most of the categories, let me give the review you came here for!

Chestnut Hill Cleansing Serum

This serum ( $29.95) is made of essential oils like calendula, camelia, castor, olive, and jojoba oil. It contains also vitamin E oil. It’s formulated to nourish and hydrate the skin while cleansing it without stripping it nor leaving residue behind. It’s lightweight, leave the skin smooth and radiant.

Don’t let the texture put you off. It works great on bare face as well as a face full of makeup. It will get every single speck of grim and leave your skin fresh and clean.

Midtown Village Face Mask

This mask ( $9.95) is insane in the best kind of way possible! The ingredients are bentonite clay, coffee Arabica, Vanilla planifora( Aka vanilla), and carbo activatus( activated Charcoal).

This masks smells great but works even better on all skin type except for the sensitive kind. It purifies the skin, soothes it, and stimulates it. It doesn’t over dry the skin and leaves it radiant.

Midtown Village Lip and Face Scrub

This scrub ($21.95) is a gentle exfoliator that will leave your skin smooth, As usual for this brand, the ingredients are simple and clean. Who doesn’t like a multipurpose product? It gently exfoliates the lips. A treat well deserved especially in the Winter months.

Ingredients: (Sucrose, Coffea Arabica, Vitis Vinifera Oil( grapeseed oil), Cocos Nucifera Oil ( coconut oil), Vanilla Planifolia, d-Alpha Tocopheryl Oil (Vitamin E) )

Old City Hair Serum

This hair serum ($24.95) has floral citrus notes. Quite invigorating and refreshing. I personally use it before drying my hair, it acts as a heat protectant. It does wonder for my very curly, frizz prone hair. A little goes a long way! The formula is light and gets absorbed quickly in the hair. Your hair will have a nice shine while not greasy with a nice bounce.

Ingredients: Argania Spinosa Oll ( Argan Oil) , Vitis Vinifera Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis Oil, d-Alpha Tocopheryl Oil (Vitamin E), Proprietary Blend of Essential Oils

Seger Park Dog Balm

This is the balm( $19.95)I use for Dandelion( a stray dog we found in our backyard, now adopted) in the Winter.

Cocos Nucifera Oil, Olea Europaea Oil, Euphoribia Cerifera Wax, Vitellaria Paradoxa Butter

I use it on her paws and her nose to keep her protected from the cold. It soaks in nicely into her skin, thankfully as she seems to enjoy licking everything I put on her.

Bella Vista Beard Serum

This serum is one my favorite to use after shaving to prevent ingrown hair. It leaves my skin so soft! It has a nice pleasant citrus scent to it. Not overwhelming at all!

Ingredients: Vitis Vinifera Oil, Argania Spinosa Oll, Simmondsia Chinensis Oil, Olea Europaea Oil, Proprietary Blend of Essential Oils.

Franklin and Whitman also carries skincare kits. They are a great value if you are new to the brand and want to try different products with the same scent profile or categories.
