Mushroom split peas soup

mushroom split peas soup

I had been sick like a dog for three days! Coughing, sneezing…  Something that rarely happens to me by the way. I had to take a few days off cooking.

The sight of the simple food was just too much for me to handle! YUCK!

On the fourth day, starting to feel better, I decided to venture into the kitchen for some soup. There wasn’t much to work with since I felt too crappy to go to the store. So, my fridge was definitely running on empty.

My only option was some mushrooms. Mushroom soup it was!mushroom split peas soup

Some green split peas grabbed my attention.

With a healthy helping of smoky chipotle seasonings, I was already feeling better. YUM!
